Flight Arrivals at Riga Airport

The arrivals halls at Riga International Airport (RIX), are divided into a Schengen area and a non-Schengen area. The Schengen area is named Arrivals E and the non-Schengen is named Arrivals C.

Both are located on the ground floor of the terminal building, on each side of the open indoor square.

Transfers at Riga International Airport

Rental Car – the rental car companies at Riga Airport are located in the public areas of Arrivals E and C. It is usually wise to book your choice of vehicle in advance.

Taxi – The three official taxi associations can be found right outside the exit from Arrivals E. They have a fixed price for the transport service, but it is always wise to ask for the price before choosing your taxi as there could be additional service costs. Other taxi companies can be used but have to be pre-booked.

Pick-ups – If you are being collected by someone at the airport they might be waiting in the short-term parking lot opposite the exit.

Bus – The public transportation buses run from early morning to late evening and can be found around 300 m from the exit, past the parking.

Train – There are no trains servicing the airport, but the bus can take you to the train station in central Riga from where you can go to other locations.

Smoking at Riga International Airport

The closest area you are allowed to smoke in after your arrival at RIX is in the designated areas outside of the terminal.

ATMs and Currency Exchange

ATM’s are found in the public area on the first floor opposite the check-in desks and the currency exchange offices are located in the public areas on both the arrivals and the departures floors.

WiFi at Riga Airport

Free WiFi is available throughout the entire terminal, although connection strength might vary from location to location. Connect to the network “RIX-Free – WiFi”, open your browser and after a short add you will be able to visit the websites of your choice for as long as you are at the airport.

Food and Shopping at Riga Airport

There are several options for both simpler food and shopping in the public areas of the terminal.

Disability at Riga Airport

If you or someone else in your company is in need of Disability Assistance upon your arrival at the airport it is best to order it at least 48 hours ahead of time through your airline or travel agency. However, if you order it later than that the airport will still provide the service, but the quality might not be as good as if it is ordered in due time. A waiting time for up to 45 minutes might occur if this is the case.
